Not only are the culture and the Himalayas of Nepal popular among visitors, but the diverse natural vegetation is another main reason people love to visit Nepal. Through a variety of activities, you can experience the real beauty of Nepal. Here, I have listed my list of things to do in Nepal to enjoy all aspects of Nepal.
(1) Trekking in Nepal
Nepal is a popular destination for trekking. I think that, through trekking, you get an opportunity to interact with the natural environment as well as the diverse culture of Nepal. Since Nepal is a multicultural country, you can see diversity in each region you pass through. The Himalayas offer different cultural aspects than the hilly region or the Terai region. Wherever you go, you will see the variance in their culture and tradition as you meet different ethnic groups residing in that particular area. Hence, trekking is a perfect chance to capture the beautiful scenery as well as get insights into the locals of Nepal.
(2) Hiking in Nepal
If trekking seems time-consuming, then you can always try hiking in Nepal. Through hiking, you can get a glimpse of the locals and their lifestyles. Hiking is a short trip, only taking a few hours or a day of your time, but for those who don’t have much time but love walking and exploring things, hiking is the perfect chance to get around and learn more about Nepal.
(3) Opt for any adventure sport in Nepal.
Whenever the word adventure comes up, you instantly think about the adrenaline rush, thrill, excitement, and joy. Likewise, there are several adventure activities that you can always try whenever you are in Nepal. There is bungee jumping, White River rafting, paragliding, zip-flying, rock climbing, mountain biking, heli-skiing, skydiving, ultralight flying, and many more. All the ethnic groups of Nepal have their unique identification; thus, there are many rituals, celebrations, and festivals to celebrate. One of the most dominant ethnic groups in Nepal is the Newar community, and they also possess many festivals, which mostly include Jatras. Besides that, other ethnic groups such as Tamang, Gurung, Magar, Brahmin, Tharu, and so on have their festivals. Dashain, Tihar, Lhosars, Maghe Sankranti, Chattah, Holi, and Teej are among the most celebrated festivals in Nepal. Participate in any of the festivals mentioned above and broaden your knowledge about Nepalese culture.
(5) Visit the major three cities in Nepal.
Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan, being the three major cities in Nepal, have a lot to offer in terms of nature and culture. These cities are full of people from all over Nepal with different backgrounds and roots. These cities also consist of UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Nepal. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square reflect the history of Nepal. Other main attractions in the cities are Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath temples, where you can see devotees showing their faith in their respective gods. Arts, beautiful wood carvings, and architecture are other attractions among the visitors. Besides that, the hustle and bustle of the city may be exhausting, but it is the charm of Nepal.
(6) Get into the wild of Nepal
Even though Nepal is a small country it is very rich in natural vegetation sheltering diverse flora and fauna. Through various jungle activities, you can get close to the wild habitat of Nepal. The national parks of Nepal have been running a variety of services for nature lovers. You may opt for jungle safari, jungle walking or bird watching, canoeing, boating, and many more activities that let you get closer to the wilderness of Nepal. Since experiencing the wilderness of Nepal is one of the important things to do in Nepal among many.
