In the eastern part of the Himalayas of Nepal lie the beautiful Makalu and Barun valleys. As loved by the traveler who has already visited, there are fewer trekking trails in Nepal. Maybe its intact and untouched beauty is the reason the past trekkers hold dearly this place in their hearts. Forgetting the comforts of luxurious hotels and tea houses, here you can find simple accommodation with very plain food. Mt. Makalu (8463m) is the fifth-highest mountain in the world and one of the toughest mountains to climb. Makalu Base Camp Trekking is also a famous trekking trail in Nepal. The rugged path to this mountain is a favorite trail among adventure lovers. The inaccessibility and remoteness of this place are two of the reasons many trekkers favor trekking there.
Nepal is one of my favorite spots for trekking. It has many famous trekking trails, like those in the Everest region and Annapurna region. But unlike those trails, this trail is very quaint, less crowded, and intact in its natural state. Barun Valley, which lies completely inside Makalu National Park, has an amazing high waterfall that falls into the deep gorges, unique landscapes of rough rocks rising from lush green forests, and colorful flowers blooming beneath the snowy peaks. The stunning Chamalang (7,319 m), Baruntse (7,129 m), and Mera (6,654 m), which also lie inside the beautiful national park, allow trekking as well as peak climbing in Nepal.
Makalu National Park is home to 3000 species of flowering plants, 75 species of mammals, and 440 species of birds. These species are not affected by humankind. Also explore the indigenous communities of Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, and Lhomi residing in this area. Makalu Barun National Park is the only protected area with a high altitude of 8000 m, which includes tropical forests and snow-capped mountains.
Explore this untouched beauty with the Highland Eco Trek before humankind changes it.
