Bhairav Kunda Trek is a recently opened trekking trail. Bhairav Kunda is a sacred place in the northeast of Kathmandu. Bhairav Kunda is the holy place of the manifestation of Lord Shiva. BhairavKunda is an important pilgrimage site for the Lord Shiva followers and Dhami/Jhankari (Shamans) of Nepal. Due to the trial being new, the visitors are mostly Pilgrims and only a few went for trekking purposes. However, the place is an equally beautiful site, like any other trekking region in Nepal. Besides that, you can always extend your trip to Gosaikunda and PanchPokhari (Five Pond), which is another religiously sacred place in Nepal, offering splendid views of the Himalayas and serene lakes.
Bhairav Kunda Trek initiates a beautiful sightseeing tour of UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. Then you will take a scenic drive to Jalbire and explore the authentic Newari culture. The following day, different groups of communities in a charming traditional village await you. The upcoming days will be full of encounters with Tamang and Sherpa ethnic groups. Their way of life, traditions, cultures, and customs are interesting to get to know and learn about, as they are influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture. BhairavKunda is largely visited on the Janai Purnima, which is one of the important festivals in Nepal. Bhairav Kunda, which lies in the Rasuwa district, is naturally blessed with hundreds of placid ponds. After several days of hiking and passing many charming villages, you will reach Bhairav Kunda.
The trek to BhairavKunda is not hard but will require a day or two of acclimatization due to the high altitude. Other than that, it is absolutely fun, thrilling, and full of adventure treks in Nepal, among many other trekking destinations in Nepal. The panoramic views of the Dorjelakpa (6966m), Jugal Himal, Madiya, and many more, along with other Tibetan Himalayas, are pure bliss to the sore eyes. Join Highland Eco Trek in this holy and exciting journey to sacred BhairavKunda.
