Annapurna Circuit Trek is a long-distance trek and is quite famous for trekkers. The trek is inside the Annapurna mountain range in central Nepal. For this trek, you need to cross different river valleys and the enclosed Annapurna massif. The highest point of this trek is Thorang La Pass (5416 m), which is the highest pass in Nepal. Most of the trek in the Annapurna region begins in Pokhara, but this trek starts in Besisahar or Bhulbule. So, it is in an anticlockwise direction so that trekkers can easily acclimatize with an altitude gain. From this way, altitude gain is slower, and crossing the Thorang La pass is easier and safer too. Road construction has made the trek a bit easier, but trekkers are worried about losing the remote charm of this region.
The real charm of the Annapurna circuit trek is the beautiful landscapes, picturesque villages, magnificent mountains, subtropical forests, waterfalls, and gigantic cliffs. The medieval villages of Pisang, Chame, Manang, and Mustang, famous for their architecture and picturesque structures, are amazing to be in. Annapurna Range is home to numerous peaks that rise from 6000 to 8000m. The very up-close and stunning views from the Thorang La pass of the Annapurna massif, including Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda, are surreal. The magnificent Tilicho Lake, surrounded by the mountains, gives a perfect reflection of the mountains in the morning. You will never forget how the glistening mountains were so close to you. Not only the sights of the Himalayas are on the way, but plenty of wildlife can be seen as well.
The trek starts from Besisahar after a seven-hour drive from Kathmandu, passing beautiful villages, paddy fields, rivers, and waterfalls. You can take a private vehicle to Manang Valley or trek there from Besisahar. You may see the cultural variation where you will find Hindu villages in the low foothills and the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. The trail is thrilling and full of adventure. The beginning of the trail is affected by the cliffs. At last, the trail ends at the world’s deepest gorge, Kali Gandaki Gorge.
