Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Trek is the folklore for the ultimate trekker and mountaineer. The valley was first visited by Eric Shipton and his team. Eric was the first person to take the legendary photo of the footprint of Yeti. The photo caused numerous rumours and discussions regarding the existence of the Yeti. Rolwaling Valley is home to the Rowling Himal and Gaurishankar ranges. When it comes to trekking in Nepal, only a few trekkers know about the place. Thus, the traffic on this route is very low compared to other trekking destinations in Nepal. The valley has a different compass reading than most of the east-to-west orientations.
Rolwaling Valley is connected to the very crowded and busy Khumbhu Valley in the east if you follow the trail through bedding, Langtang on the west, and Solukhumbhu to its east. Rolwaling Valley is brightened by the delightful Sherpa villages. Therefore, the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the people living in the Khumbu valley are similar to those of the Rolwaling valley. The main highlight of this trek is Tso Rolpa, the biggest glacial lake in Nepal. Many visitors are attracted to Rolwaling Valley due to this beautiful glacial lake. As we know, Rolwaling Valley is connected to Khumbhu Valley, Langtang, and Solukhumbhu; thus, trekking on these trails is also possible from Rolwaling Valley. The trek to Rolwaling Valley is not as simple as having to cross Tashi lapcha Pass. For that reason, you may need a skilled and experienced guide to cross the pass.
Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Trek is home to a large variety of flora and fauna. Animals like bears, snow leopards, and jackals. Furthermore, Rowling Valley is not only about mountains and animals; logically, for Hindus, the peak emblems are Lord Shiva and Parvati. And as for Buddhists, Gaurishankar Himal is the incarnation of Tashi Tseringma. Moreover, the Rolwaling Valley Trek definitely gives different vibes than other trekking destinations in Nepal. The journey starts with a sightseeing tour of UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Nepal. The official trek starts from Chetchet which is a two-hour drive from Dolakha. Come along with Highland Eco Trek and explore the beautiful Rolwaling valley.
