Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek

Trip Overview

The Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek is another interesting trekking trail in the Everest region. Among the three passes in the Khumbu region, Cho La (5330m) is one of them. The trail is not easy, as you will have to walk at an altitude of more than 5000m. But once you have conquered your ultimate destination, you will see the amazing view of sky-piercing mountains. There are many viewpoints along the way where you can take a break from all the hiking and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Everest range. The trekking journey in the Khumbu region also begins with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Then you will cross many suspension bridges along the flowing Dudh Koshi River. Afterward, the trail follows the charming Namche Bazar. After one day of acclimatization in Namche Bazar, the trail will take you to Gokyo Lake. Then you will climb Gokyo Ri (5480 m), where you can see the stunning views of Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The very next day, you will cross the Cho La pass and reach Dzongla. The journey continues for Gorekshep. Then you will hike up to Kalapathar (5545 m), from where you can get a close-up view of Mt. Everest. At last, you will trek down to Everest Base Camp. Tengboche is the last but not the least highlight of this trek. Tengboche is one of the famous viewpoints to look at the enchanting views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kangega, Mt. Kwangde, and Mt. Nuptse.
